This is why it is good to try new things every now and then, as this will push you and help you work different areas. However, it can be difficult to know where to start as there are so many different exercise regimes and activities you can try your hand at.

Dance workouts

With the popularity of Zumba over the years, it’s hardly surprising that more dance forms of exercise are starting to be favored. These workouts are fun, suitable for a range of abilities and fitness levels and effective.

Group dance classes are becoming more popular, with the workouts coming with music, glow sticks and disco lights. It makes it feel like a party rather than a workout, which is probably why so many people are giving it a go.

If you want to workout with friends or take a break from the solitary gym, dance-based exercise is the trend you need to try.

Boxing

Boxing has become increasingly popular and this seems set to continue. This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to fight other people, as many gyms are teaching non-contact boxing so you get all the benefits without the bruises.

Not only is boxing a great workout, helping you build your strength and endurance while toning up and improving your balance, it’s also incredibly empowering. You’ll feel great after a boxing workout and will look forward to the next round, so you may want to give boxing a go.

Aerobics

It’s probably been a while since you saw an aerobics class on the schedule at your gym, but this 1980s trend is back with a vengeance. Combining dance elements with fast paced workouts designed to get your heart rate up, burn calories and lose weight, aerobics is a great option for a fun workout.

As well as helping you to burn fat and improve endurance, aerobic exercise also helps you become more agile, improve your coordination and strengthen your heart. So while you’re having fun jumping around, your body is working hard so you will see benefits if you do this type of exercise regularly.

Water workouts

This year is all about getting in the water to get fit. Working out in water is brilliant and incredibly effective. It’s a low-impact form of exercise that actually delivers fantastic benefits due to the resistance that water provides.

As well as swimming, water-based classes like aqua aerobics and Zumba are great options if you prefer something lively. You can also do circuits in the pool, which incorporate swimming aqua jogging and other exercises you’d usually do on dry land.

If you prefer to stay dry, paddleboarding is a good workout for your whole body, as you need to maintain your balance and engage a lot of muscles to paddle yourself around.

All of these exercises are fun and could be different enough from your usual routine to help you get excited about working out again.
